Health Benefits

  • Natural - Hypoallergenic
Clinivet is formulated without wheat, beef, lamb and soya products. These ingredients are known to be common allergens, and can contribute to conditions such as digestive upsets, dry, flaky and itchy skin, and a dull coat. By excluding these products from the diet, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of these allergic reactions.

  • Healthy Skin
A shiny coat and healthy skin are signs of a healthy body. A balanced Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio is thought to reduce the incidence of inflammatory responses, such as dry, itchy, flaky skin, arthritis, visual defects, cancer and infertility. Essential oils from fish and linseeds are excellent sources of these essential fatty acids and help support the coat and skin condition.

  • Protects - Protected Immunity
A strong immune system is vital in keeping the body strong and healthy. This important defence mechanism protects the body from unwanted pathogens, and cells from oxidative damage.

  • Healthy Gut
A healthy gut helps protect against indigestion and promote a healthy gut environment, and can reduce the incidence of colitis and diarrhoea. The addition of fructo-oligosaccharides and mono-oligosaccharides to Clinivet boosts levels of 'friendly' gut bacteria and limit the growth of less friendly bacteria.

  • Controlled Release of Energy
The glycemic index (GI) is a measure of how quickly blood glucose levels rise after eating a particular type of food. A low GI food will release glucose (energy) into the body more slowly and steadily promoting a feeling of fullness for longer, whereas a high GI food releases glucose much faster, and is known to be associated with an increased risk of obesity.

  • Hairball Management
Cats' tongues have small barbs which dislodge loose hair during grooming. The hair is swallowed and travels down into the stomach. It usually passes through the digestive tract without any problems, however sometimes it remains in the stomach and accumulates to form a hairball. Hairballs rarely cause problems, but when they reach a certain size, the cat tried to eliminate them by expulsion with the faeces, or by vomiting. Hairballs can be prevented by feeding a dry food which helps reduce the formation of hairballs in the gut, in addition, Omega 3 fatty acids also help maintain good coat condition, reducing the quantity of hair which is lost.

  • Cardio Care
Taurine is thought to help protect against heart failure, and is essential for cardiovascular function, and the development of skeletal muscle and the central nervous system.
